Exchange of the Drive Chain and the Sprocket Gear

3, November, 2013

The drive chain and sprocket gear for GPZ900R were exchanged.

GPZ900R was bought as a new bike in July, 2002.
The mileage reached 30,000 km at present, but the drive chain was never changed yet.

Therefor, the drive chain was exchanged to new one, in addition front and rear sprocket gear were exchanged too.

New drive chain and sprocket gear

<New Item>
Drive Chain : DID 530ZVM-X 110ZB SILVER PLATE  (Weight=2,395g)
Front Sprocket Gear : SUNSTER Iron T17 (Weight=???g)
Rear Sprocket Gear : SUNSTER RK-105-46 T46 (Weight=440g)

Exchange of the Front Sprocket Gear for "Good Acceleration", and Battery

11 November 2013,
Front sprocket Gear of Mate90 was exchanged from T15 of normal to T14.

New front sprocket gear is not an item for Mate90, it is gear for TZR50 by nature.
However its gear was fitted Mate90 appropriately.

Right : Old gear (T15 of Normal)   Left : New gear (T14)

New front sprocket gear was set appropriately
(Data : TOKIKO-T14 for TZR50)

Because a rear gear is T35,

・ Normal gear ratio is 2.333 (R/F = T35/T15).
・ New gear ratio is 2.500 (R/F = T35/T14)

It became the side of "Good-Acceleration (Increase Rate is 7%)" than normal one.

After running and confirming it, the acceleration really improved. Particularly, the acceleration of the top gear (third gear) is very valuable performance.

In the case of using the top gear at the normal gear ratio, the acceleration is dull even on a flat road, and an engine dose not rev up completely.
However, after the exchange of the sprocket gear, an engine revs up smoothly at the top gear. As a result, the maximum speed is almost same as a normal gear ratio though the gear ratio became big.

Probably It is judged that the normal gear ratio devote itself to fuel-saving performance too much. On the other hand, this new gear ratio can be use the engine ideally.

In addition, Battery and Fuel Cap Seal  were exchanged to new one.

Battery : BPC NT4L-BS

Because it is very cheap battery made in China, the durability is worried about.
If it breaks down in a short term, I intend to exchange it for a Japanese product promptly.

Old seal of the fuel cap has been broken, therefore gasoline often leaked.

Mauritius Food (1)

For lunch of the weekday, I often buy various food in the food stand in front of my office.

...........Boiled noodle, Fried noodle, Bugger, Roti, Samosa, Boulette etc

They are very cheap and delicious for the most Japanese people.

When it is 2:00 p.m., many sweet cakes and pies are arranged to a showcase.

Motorcycle in Mauritius

Motorcycle in Mauritius

Generally, the motorization of developing countries advances by the following order.

(1) Bicycle......(2) Motorcycle ......(3) Car

The motorization in Mauritius has already approached the entrance to "Car", like the 1960s (30s-40s of the Showa era) in Japan.

However, the motorcycle is still an important way of transportation for many people.

Most motorcycles are displacement volume less than 125cc.

There are extremely few motorcycles of displacement volume more than 250cc, and they are possessions of the hobbies not life utilization.

About half of the motorcycle in Mauritius is SUZUKI and HAOJUE.

However, because all the motorcycles of SUZUKI in Mauritius are produced under license in a factory of Chinese HAOJUE, it may be quite said that half of the motorcycle is made in HAOJYUE.

Other than SUZUKI and HAOJUE, HONDA and YAMAHA are seen a lot, too.

How to eat breakfast

"How to eat breakfast" in hotel was changed from last week.

Until last week, I had cooked the food (bread, egg, etc.) in the kitchen of the hotel by myself and eaten.

But now, a breakfast is supplied by small restaurant "Padma Deli".

This small restaurant was opened by a manager of the hotel "Residence Padma" where I am staying in, therefore the name is "Padma Deli".

It is convenient for me that I can eat breakfast at the restaurant near the hotel.

However, because the manager often oversleep it is problem that a restaurant often closes!

....... In the yesterday morning,
....... because there was no other way I took him to the restaurant by my car!

Walk at the time of sunset

It is charming to take a walk in the Mauritian beach at the time of sunset.

Before sunset of Sunday, most boats return to the beach

At the time of sunset, there are a lot of people enjoying to walk in the beach.

....... Though it has noting to do with a sunset,
....... Today's lunch was Buriani which I bought with the food wagon near the hotel.

"Buriani" is always delicious without depending on a shop and food wagon.
On the other hand, the attached chili souse is different every shop.
This chili souse was fruity and tasty, probably a berry was included in a chili souse.

God created Mauritius first...

I am in the Mauritius island now , and am going to stay more than two months.

Mauritius island is a volcanic island on the Indian Ocean in the west of African Continent.

Mark Twain said following his visit to Mauritius island in 1897....
...... God created Mauritius first, and then paradise was copied it.
